AMI is built upon the foundation established over 10 years by the well known law firm McDonald Balanda & Associates through its mortgage lending practice.
AMI was licensed as a Responsible Entity from the introduction of the Managed Investments Act in 1999 and provided its investor clients with the opportunity to invest funds in mortgage loan facilities.
With the introduction of the Financial Services Reform legislation in March 2004, AMI outsourced its mortgage management operations to La Trobe Capital & Management Limited and is now a sponsor company of the La Trobe Australian Mortgage Fund. This has enabled AMI to provide superior systems and reporting whilst maintaining its own loan approval criteria and assessment as well as the close investor relationships which have always been an integral part of our business.
AMI's general manager, Peter Harris, has over 30 years commercial lending experience in both Queensland and New South Wales and has established a reputation as a sound lender and mortgage manager.

He is a trainer in Real Estate law at the Real Estate Institute of Queensland and author of 'Clauses Made Simple' a textbook on clauses for contracts.
Graham Boulsen
Director, Queensland Mortgage Bureau Pty Ltd. Director, Australian Mortgage Portfolio Management Pty Ltd. Graham spent 30 years with Westpac Banking Corporation culminating in his appointment as Queensland State Manager, Sales & Service, before commencing his own finance consultancy business. He has extensive strategic, administration, credit and risk assessment expertise.
Peter Harris
Director, Harris Financial Pty Ltd. Director, Interloan Services Pty Ltd. Peter is a former Queensland Manager of AMEV Finance Ltd. and AGC Industrial Ltd. With over 30 years experience in the Banking, Finance and Merchant Banking industry, for the large part in senior management, and lending roles in New South Wales and Queensland . Since 1992 he has specialised in the area of private mortgage finance and mortgage management.

A partner of the law firm of McDonald, Balanda & Associates since 1989, Tony is a specialist commercial lawyer in the area of real estate law, securities and property development. Tony oversaw the development of the firm's mortgage lending practice for 8 years.
